OHS to Present "The Little Mermaid Jr"

The 60-minute musical is based on the 2008 Broadway production and the 1989 animated feature film. The O’Neill High School cast contains approximately 40 students led by Jonathan Jaques.

This classic Disney title contains all of the songs from the Academy Award® winning animated feature film as well as three new songs from the Broadway show. THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. takes place in a magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she’s the girl with the perfect voice.
Performances of Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. are open to the public at O’Neill High School on April 18, 2015 at 7:00 pm and on April 19, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Admission is $4 for adults and students, children 5 and under attend free. Tickets are available at the door.
The O’Neill High School drama department has been producing student-performed musicals each spring for many years. These shows have included classics like Guys and Dolls and The Wizard of Oz and new shows like Dear Edwina and Striking 12. All cast members are in grades 9-12 and all crew members are in grades 7-12. A combination of great student talent and committed staff members has made O’Neill High School’s musicals events that nobody should miss.
