FCCLA Members Win Award at State Leadership Conference

Launch the media gallery 1 playerFourteen members of the O’Neill FCCLA members joined other members, advisors and guests from across Nebraska for the State Leadership Conference in Lincoln April 3-5.
During the conference STAR competition was held. Over 500 students competed in 49 events. Results from O’Neill included:
National Qualifiers:
State Champion & Gold Medalist Amanda Pischel in Leadership with her presentation “Leadership In Action”, State Champion & Silver medalist Emma Krysl in Advocacy, Senior, with her presentation “Life Goes On”, State Champion & Silver Medalist Hannah Alden in Nutrition and Wellness, Junior, with her presentation “A Healthier Me.”
As well as State Runner-Up & Gold medalist Lauren Osborne in Illustrated Talk, Senior, with her presentation “I Am An Ally.”
Also recognized were National Qualifiers Allison Becker, Allison Ludwig, and Emily Morrow in Digital Stories for Change, Senior.
Other results included State Champions and gold medalists in Nebraska Family Challenges and Issues, Sr., Abby Gillham and Aleigha Holz with their presentation:
“Families With A Healthy Start Finish Strong!” Receiving silver medals and fourth place were Julia Bauer and Haley Schmeichel in Chapter Service Project Display, Senior, with their project “Love Adelyn.”
State Peer Officer Team members were also selected. Emma Krysl is the Vice Chair of the Family Leader Team while Marissa Lichty is the Secretary of the Career Leader Team. Allison Becker and Allison Ludwig finished their terms as members of the Student Body Team and Financial Fitness Team respectively.
Haley Schmeichel was elected District 9 Vice President.
Attending from O’Neill were: Hannah Alden, Julia Bauer, Allison Becker, Abby Gillham, Aleigha Holz, Robyn Isom, Emma Krysl, Blair Langan, Marissa Lichty, Allison Ludwig, Emily Morrow, Lauren Osborne, Amanda Pischel, and Haley Schmeichel. Accompanying the group were Jill Langan, Shannon Stelling, and Ann Mann.
