O'Neill Boys Place 4th at Aurora Invitational Track & Field Meet

Saturday, April 9, the O’Neill Boy’s Team competed at the Aurora Invitational Track Meet. The team consisted of eight teams, most at the Class B level.
The Eagles performed well in the field events. Alex Thramer placed 2nd in long jump and high jump, and Walker Liewer placed 3rd in the discus and 4th in the shot put. Corbin Dean was able to place 6th in the pole vault.
In the hurdling events Alex Thramer placed 3rd in the 300 intermediate hurdles and 110 high hurdles. Estabon De Lao also placed 6th in the 300 intermediates.
Grant Johnston placed second in the 3200 meter run and Blake Johnston was 2nd in the 1600 meter run.
In the relays the 4 x 800 placed 3rd and the 4 x 100 earned a 6th place finish.
“Team competed hard. Weather was bad for everyone. We are still getting in shape and learning. We have a strong team. We will keep getting better,” said Coach Hilker.
This Thursday, April 14, the O’Neill Eagles will hosting their own invitational with over twenty teams competing. The meet starts at 10:30 am. Come support the O’Neill Eagle Track and other area teams as they compete.
