The Nebraska Track and Field Festival is Nebraska's Best of the Best Meet. The meet is a grassroots creation by track and field coaches from around the state of Nebraska to provide a special, meaningful track and field experience for athletes, coaches, and spectators. This experience will allow the very best within the Nebraska high school track and field community to come together for one special day in April to compete and enjoy the very best of Nebraska's athletes.
Athletes that placed 1st or 2nd at the Nebraska State Track Meet the previous year, and are still in high school, are automatically qualified to compete in this meet. Mikayla Marvin of OHS, who placed 2nd in the pole vault at the State Meet last year, was one of these automatic qualifiers. State qualifiers from last year may also use their times from the State meet to enter; Samantha Eichelberger was one athlete who qualified in this manner in the 300 low hurdles.
Other athletes can enter their best times of the year to date to also qualify. The following O’Neill Track and Field athletes qualified: Alex Thramer in the 110 high hurdles, Wyatt Liewer in the high jump, Payton Birkel in the 800 and Taya Rainforth in the 100 high hurdles.
