Dear Parents/Guardians:
On August 21st, “The Great American Eclipse” will be passing across the United States. In the late morning and early afternoon, O’Neill will receive 97% eclipse coverage. In conjunction with this event, OES 4th-6th graders will head outside and view the eclipse through ISO-approved glasses. Kindergarten-3rd graders will be watching NASA TV coverage of the eclipse within the school.
Enclosed is a permission slip for 4th-6th parents/guardians to sign to allow their student(s) to participate in the event. Please bring the slips back to school by August 18th. If you have a student that is in Kindergarten-3rd grade, you, as the parent/guardian can come sign your child out of school to enjoy the eclipse together UNDER YOUR SUPERVISION.
We are excited for this great learning opportunity for all of our students. Thank you for partnering with us!
Sincerely,
Mr. Jim York
Principal, O’Neill Elementary School
