FCCLA End of Year Banquet

2016-2017 Officers

Members of the O’Neill Chapter of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America held their year-end banquet on Monday, May 2, 2016 in the high school gym. Members and their guests enjoyed a carry in meal followed by a program to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year.

A slide show featuring many scenes from the year started off the evening. Chapter President Amanda Pischel gave the opening remarks. Members were recognized for the many school and community service activities they were involved with during the year. These projects included: Sponsoring games for children at the homecoming tailgate party, Eagle Olympics, caroling at the Evergreen & Golden Living Center, modeling prom dresses at the Golden Living Center and the Evergreen, decorating for the Frolics dance, face painting for the green eggs and ham activity, collecting items for Love Adelyn, and cleaning the road ditches.

Members were recognized for their participation in STAR. District Champions and District Runners as well as gold and silver medalists were introduced. State STAR competitors, Hannah Alden, Emma Krysl, Lauren Osborne, Amanda Pischel, Haley Schmeichel and Julia Bauer, and Abby Gillham and Aleigha Holz were presented with their certificates. Amanda, Emma, & Hannah were recognized as State Champion while Lauren was recognized as State Runner-up with all being National qualifiers. Abby and Aleigha were also recognized as State Champions.

Allison Becker and Allison Ludwig were recognized for completing their terms as members of the State Peer Officer Team.

Emma Krysl, Blair Langan, and Marissa Lichty were recognized as state peer officer finalists. Emma and Marissa were both elected to their respective offices.

Seniors were recognized and thanked for their years of service to the organization. They included: Grace Bunner, Brittney Davidson, Abby Gillham, Hailee Harmon, Mikayla Mosel, Amanda Pischel, Nayeli Rodriguez, James Walton, and Ashley Wanser.

Outgoing officers were thanked for their efforts throughout the year. They were: President Amanda Pischel; Vice President Grace Bunner; Secretary Abby Gillham; Treasurer Allison Ludwig; Public Relations Emma Krysl Historian Marissa Lichty; Student Council Representative Emily Morrow.

Outstanding member awards were presented to seventh grader Kelsey Osborne, eighth grader Makenna Welke, freshman Maddie Hohbein; sophomore Emma Krysl, Junior Aleigha Holz; senior Grace Bunner; and overall outstanding member Amanda Pischel.

Awards were presented to the members for their years of participation in the organization. One, two, three, four, and five-year members were recognized. Six-Year member were Grace Bunner, Abby Gillham, Hailee Harmon, Mikayla Mosel, Amanda Pischel, & James Walton.

The outgoing officers conducted the candle lighting and installation ceremony. Newly installed officers include: President Emily Morrow, Vice President Emma Krysl, Secretary Marissa Lichty, Treasurer Allison Ludwig, Public Relations Allison Becker Historian Haley Schmeichel and Student Council Representative Aleigha Holz.

The evening concluded with the farewell by newly installed President Emily Morrow.
