O'Neill Public Schools

On Monday, April 13th the O’Neill Lady Eagles Junior High Track team traveled to Boone Central to participate in the Boone Central Middle School Invite. Although the meet got cut short due to thunderstorms the Lady Eagles fared well and earned several medals in the events that did get completed before the cancellation.

            Gold medals from the Eagles included Brianna Kallhoff in the 8^th Grade Shotput with a throw of 36’ 4” to secure herself the top spot. Kallhoff also earned 2^nd place in the Discus with a throw of 82’ 3”. More gold medals on the day were in the 7^th Grade division. Erandi Pantoja and Madison Wettlaufer tied for 1^st place in the Pole Vault both clearing 5’ 6”. Also, Harper Fick jumped 13’ 3” in the 7^th Grade Girls Long Jump to secure the Gold.

Other top performances in the field include Tandi Shoemaker earning 5^th place in the 8^th Grade Girls Shot Put. Madisyn Eichelberger and Jaidyn Owens found themselves back on the medal stand in the 8^th Grade Girls High Jump. Eichelberger earned 6^th place clearing 4’ 2” and Owens got 4^th clearing 4’ 4”. Zooey Hilger also earned 4^th place in the 8^th Grade Girls Triple Jump with a leap of 27’ 4”.

The Eagles also had a few more top finishes on the track as well. The track meet concluded during the 200M hurdles, so no events were recorded following. The 7^th Grade Girls 4x100 M Relay Team of Avery Jackson, Ruby Schluns, Mya McCormick and Harper Fick earned 3^rd place in the event with a time of 59.43. The 8^th Grade 4x100 M Relay Team of Madisyn Eichelberger, Hailey Gartner, Harper Benson & Marissa Grosch earned the 4^th place spot in the 8^th Grade division with a time of 57.31. Avery Jackson also earned 6^th place in the 100M Dash 7^th Grade Division running a 14.53 and Madisyn Eichelberger, in the 8^th Grade Division, also placed 6^th with a time of 14.08.

The Eagles will be back in action on Friday, April 17th to compete in the rescheduled Ainsworth Middle School Invite.
