On Tuesday April 21, the lady Eagles took the track at their home meet. It was a beautiful day for a track meet and many Eagle athletes took advantage earning the team a 3rd Place team finish.
The Eagle throwers led the way as 8th grader Brianna Kallhoff won the Shot Put and Discus. Kallhoff thew the Shot Put 35’ 5.5” and the Discus 91’ 0”. Tandi Shoemaker earned 3rd Place in the Shot Put with a personal best throw of 28’ 4”.
In other field events, Jaidyn Owens found herself back on the medal stand with a 3rd Place finish in the High Jump clearing 4’ 6”. Marissa Grosch also had a top finish in the Pole Vault where she cleared 6’ 6” to earn herself 4th Place. In the Long Jump, 7th Grader Harper Fick is continuing to make strides as she earned herself 2nd Place in the event. Fick jumped a personal best of 13’ 10.5”.
The Lady Eagles also found success on the track. Hailey Gartner earned 5th Place in the 100M Dash with a time of 14.36. In the girls 1600M run Erandi Pantoja ran a personal best of 6:48.85 to secure the bronze medal in the event. The Lady Eagles relay teams also had a great day. The 4x100M Relay team of Avery Jackson, Lianna Murphy, Hailey Gartner & Marissa Grosch earned 2nd Place in the event running a 57.03. In the 4x400M Relay Gartner and Grosch were joined by Jaidyn Owens and Zooey Hilger to run a team best of 4:40.73 earning them 2nd Place in the event.
The Eagles will host the JH Mid States Conference Meet on Saturday.
