Hailey Gartner

On Thursday, April 30th the JH Lady Eagles traveled to Ord to finish their season on the track and in field. The Eagles finished the day in a tight race for 4th place but found many accomplishments and personal bests along the way.  

Brianna Kallhoff won the combined Shot Put and set a new meet record with a throw of 36’ 1”. Tandi Shoemaker was not far behind with a personal best throw of 30’ 3” to earn herself 3rd place in the event. Kallhoff also won the discus with a personal best throw of 99’ 2”. Other Gold Medals on the day was the 7th Grade Girls 4x100 M relay with the team of Avery Jackson, Ruby Schluns, Mya McCormick and Harper Fick running a 58.33 to win the event.

In other field events, Madisyn Eichelberger and Jaidyn Owens went 2nd & 3rd Places in the Girls High Jump. Eichelberger cleared 4’ 4” to earn 2nd Place and Owens cleared 4’ 2” to earn 3rd Place. Marissa Grosch had a successful day in the Pole Vault where she earned 4th Place with a personal best vault of 7’0”. In the Girls Long Jump Harper Fick earned 5th Place with a leap of 13’ 10.5”.

Hailey Gartner

It was a big day for the Lady Eagles on the track with many personal bests for the Lady Eagles. Hailey Gartner ran a personal best of 13.92 in the 100M Dash and earned 3rd Place in the event. Madisyn Eichelberger wasn’t far behind with a 14.06 earning herself 6th Place. Eichelberger also had a personal best in the 200M Hurdles with a time of 33.19 which secured her the 3rd Place Medal in the event and earned herself a place in the O’Neill JH All-Time Records. The 4x100M Relay Team of Eichelberger joined by Lianna Murphy, Hailey Gartner and Marissa Grosch took home the Silver Medal in the event with a time of 55.46. 7th Grader Elizabeth Trejo got 4th Place in the 400M Dash with a time of 1:10.68. Trejo along with Madison Wettlaufer, Madai Sanchez, and Erandi Pantoja earned 4th Place in the 4x800 M Relay with a time of 12:15.46.

The JH Lady Eagles had an excellent season with many top finishes on the year. They will await the final overall state results to determine if any athletes finish in the top 25 individually or top 16 in relays to qualify for the JH State Track Meet in Gothenburg on May 16.
